THE WHO SARK?

The Cutty Sark! A name that is rife with history and admittedly very fun to say, the Cutty Sark is a historical sailing boat. It used to be the fastest of its time! Now it sits perched in Greenwich, serving as a tourist attraction and local favourite venue. Additionally, an interesting tidbit is that this grand boat is around 150 years old!

There is a multitude of things to do on this sailboat, there are many treats above and below deck. A cafe, various staff donned as historical characters, guided tours, an insiders look at the captain’s cabin, and more!

Check out their website here to find out what could be in store for you on your weekends if the Cutty Sark was just a short walk away from your home.

EATERIES & AMENITIES

As with other popular London destinations, North Greenwich is not without its fair share of basic amenities. It lacks a little in the independent branches of various stores, and you’re far more likely to find a Starbucks than an independently owned coffee shop, for example. Looking for something with a little more unique flair in its stores? Check out our Notting Hill area guide.

There are, however, a few stand out gems, varying from famous venues to cherished interior stores:

  • The O2. Need we explain further? Easily one of the most popular venues in London, and it could be right at your doorstep.
  • Locals praise Il Bianco for its divine food and delectable seafood selection.
  • Billingsgate Market is a local seafood market, offering high quality seafood that gives supermarket brands for their money.
  • The Lotus is a ‘floating’ Chinese restaurant, set on a rooftop. Not for the fearful of heights!
  • Susan Clark Interiors is one of the only notable independently owned shops around, and locals love it for its furniture, unique gifts and kitsch cards.
